Earthen race review: Its features and advantages

In World of Warcraft, developers regularly expand game content by adding new playable races, allowing for more diversity in gameplay and giving players more options when choosing characters.

Each major expansion introduces something new, and The War Within is no exception. This expansion added a new race – the Earthen available to both the Horde and the Alliance. This unique race brought fresh mechanics and lore, strengthening the interactive connections between players and the game world.

Briefly about Earthen

The Earthen are a race created by the Titans. They recently freed themselves from directives and began developing civilization, making their own decisions about what to do. They have stone-like skin that can become encrusted with precious gems as they age, and they resemble enlarged Dwarves.

The Earthen are located in the Isle of Dorn zone. This is where players begin their journey in the new expansion. Their capital is Dornogal.

How to unlock a race

You need to meet certain conditions to use a race to create a character. First, you must complete the entire campaign in all four zones at the maximum level. For navigation, the last quest is called Return to Dornogal. After this, you need to complete the following quests related to the race:

  • Mourning Rise: This quest chain begins on the Isle of Dorn and involves tasks related to the history of the Earthen. Players start with the quest Before I Depart and gradually progress to the final quest, The Weight of Duty.
  • Merrix and Steelvein: This series of quests starts in Dornogal with How Scandalous! and concludes with the quest Bad Business.
  • Broken Tools: In this chain, players will interact with Mechanic Kitrin in the Gulkith Depths. The quests begin with Discarded and Broken, where players help find lost and broken tools. In the final quest, Reforged Purpose, you assist in repairing the tools so that the mechanic can begin fixing the Machine Speakers.

Also, you can use WoW power leveling service on special sites. With WoW power level you will be able to unlock a new race, special armor sets for them, and get a starter set of gold if needed. Additional use of WoW level boosting will increase your new character to the maximum level, which will allow you to familiarize yourself with all its features and save a lot of time.

Customization

The customization for male and female characters is no different, so they have similar options. The funny thing is that you can put a beard on a female character and choose its color. The unique customization items for this race are Body Gems and Body Gem Color. Body Gem Color sets the color of all crystals on the Earthling’s body, including the main one on his belt, and Body Gems allows you to choose templates with additional crystal growths on his arms, back, and other body parts. Here is a listing of all the customization options:

  • Skin Color
  • Face
  • Hair Style
  • Hair Color
  • Beard Style
  • Eye Color and Eyesight
  • Body Gems
  • Body Gem Color

Available classes for the game

Characters of this race are quite flexible because you can use them to create 9 different classes. Considering that there are 13 classes in the game, this is not a bad result.  Earthen can not be Death Knights, Demon Hunters, or Druids as well as Evokers (a special class for the Dracthyr race). It is recommended to use them with Tank classes because they have features characteristic for this role.

Exclusive racial abilities

The Earthen race has additional features that distinguish them from other characters and also bring new mechanics to the game.

Active abilities

Azerite Surge

This is an active ability that gives additional effects depending on how long the skill is charged. There are three tiers in total:

  • First tier: Deals fire damage in a frontal cone.
  • Second tier: Heals allies who are in this cone.
  • Third Tier: Deals additional fire damage to enemies with the highest amount of health.

This gives versatility to this race because they can both damage enemies and heal their allies.

Ingest Minerals

This race cannot eat food and is always full. Activate Ingest Minerals to consume a Khaz Algar gem and change the benefit granted to you by Well Fed:

  • Amber: Stamina
  • Emerald: Haste
  • Onyx: Mastery
  • Ruby: Critical Strike
  • Sapphire: Versatility

Passive Bonuses

Passive bonuses are advantages or enhancements that a character receives automatically without needing to take active actions to activate them. These bonuses are continuously active once the conditions for obtaining them are met and can include increased stats, improved abilities, enhanced damage resistance, or other positive effects. The Earthen has the following passive bonuses:

  • Hyper Productive: Increases the chance of obtaining additional materials while gathering by 2%.
  • Titan-Wrought Frame: Increases the base armor of each equipped item by 10%.
  • Wide-Eyed Wonder: When gaining experience from exploring a location, you receive 200% additional exploration experience.

Earthen Heritage Armor

When a character of the Earthen race reaches level 50, the player receives a special achievement called Heritage of the Earthen and a set of Earthen Heritage Armor which can only be used by this race.

This armor set is cosmetic, allowing it to be transmogrified onto any type of armor — cloth, leather, mail, or plate – that the character is wearing. Other races cannot use this set. The armor comes in four color variations, offering players a choice.
